aspell-pt software package provides Portuguese dictionaries for GNU Aspell (old package), you can install in your Ubuntu 16.10 (Yakkety Yak) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install aspell-pt
aspell-pt is installed in your system.
Make ensure the aspell-pt package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep aspell-pt *
You will get with aspell-pt package name, version, architecture and description in a table
